Terms of use
Last updated: Oct 7, 2026
These terms explain how Overlatam works and what you can expect from us. By creating an account you accept them. They are written to be understood; if something isn't clear, write to us.
1. What Overlatam is
Overlatam is a community for overland travelers in Latin America: border and paperwork guides, topics on van builds, mechanics and travel, and a business directory. It is run by Beeper Solutions, based in Uruguay ("we").
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older.
- One account per person, with real information. You can't impersonate someone else.
- You sign in with a link we email you. Protect access to your email: whoever has it can get into your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from "My profile".
3. What you post
- What you write and the photos you upload remain yours.
- By posting, you give us a free, non-exclusive permission to show it on Overlatam, translate it into other languages and adapt it (for example, resize a photo) while it stays published. If you delete it, or delete your account, the permission ends.
- You are responsible for what you post: it must be true, yours or shared with permission, and follow the Community guidelines.
- Border crossing reports and reviews are public and become part of the guides.
4. The information is not official
Guides and posts are put together by the team and the community as carefully as possible, but they don't replace official sources. Border, customs and immigration requirements change without notice. Before you travel, confirm with each country's authorities. We are not responsible for decisions made only on the basis of what is published on Overlatam.
5. Businesses and sponsored content
- Businesses can have a profile and pay for featured spaces. Everything paid is labeled "Sponsored".
- A business cannot pay to change, hide or delete what the community writes, including negative reviews.
6. Moderation
We may hide or remove content and suspend accounts that don't follow these terms or the community guidelines. We explain how we moderate and how to request a review in the Community guidelines.
7. Liability
Overlatam is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it working and available, but it may have errors or interruptions. To the extent allowed by the law of your country, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the site. Nothing here limits the rights your country's consumer protection law gives you.
8. Changes
If we change these terms in an important way, we'll let you know on the site and ask you to accept them again before you keep posting.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Uruguay, without prejudice to the rights granted to you by the law of the country where you live.
